NHL: LA Kings Win Stanley Cup

The winners of Stanley Cup.
The Los Angeles Kings won the Stanley Cup for the first time, beating New Jersey Devils 6-1, in the sixth game of a best-of-seven series. The Kings won the series 4-2

The first goal was fittingly scored by captain Dustin Brown. Jeff Carter and Trevor Lewis both hit twice for the Kings as they sealed an emphatic win against the Devils. Matt Greene slotted the last goal home to make it 6 and a great achievement for the Kings.

An amazing comeback did look possible for the Devils after they lost the first 3 games, meaning that one more win from the Kings would seal the title. However, they did not give up, and won two consecutive games to make the series well balanced at 3-2. However, their comeback dreams were crushed after last night's 6-1 defeat.

Kings not only will be thanking their goalscorers, but also their goaltender, Jonathan Quick, who made 17 saves in the game.

Adam Henrique got New Jersey's only goal of the game. However, this came when they were already 4-0 down, so was really only a consolation.

Opening goalscorer and captain Dustin Brown said: "This is something everyone's dreamed of for their whole lives and this city's dreamed of for 45 years,"

Congratulations to Los Angeles Kings on their first ever Stanley Cup!
