Album Review - Usher - "Looking 4 Myself"

Usher's 7th album 'Looking 4 Myself'' is his most distinctive yet. In fact, he has pretty much created his own genre of revolutionary pop! There are a world of different genres in this 14 track album, including electronic dance, R&B, dub step, pop and hip-hop.

He had worked with some top class producers such as will.i.am and Swedish House Mafia. However with these producers it  is unfortunate that too much of the good music is drowned by 150beats per minutes stomping all over it!

In his first song with will.i.am they have been able to twist Billy Joel's 'Uptown Girl' into a club song with hard beats and a lot of dubstep drops, weird right?

Usher's earlier club tracks really helped this album progress songs like 'Yeah', 'OMG' and 'Caught Up'. On 'Looking 4 Myself' the track  most like these classics is a song called 'Show Me'. Which is one of the best songs on the album in my opinion.

However Usher has included some twisted songs in this album. Like 'Twisted'. The rhythm is very strange and a bit hard to get by.

I do think that Usher is 'Looking 4 himself' and no wonder! Since the crazy 17 years since his debut album, which was released when he was 16! He has gone through 2 very very public breakups, like when he divorced from his wife in 2009, it fueled his album 'Raymond vs Raymond'.

In 'Looking 4 Myself'the wonderful, best song on the album 'Climax' comments on how he is no longer married but is still able to find love.

I'd give this album an 8/10!

An example of his music masterpiece.
