The incident happened at around 4pm at the Downsview park in the Canadian city of Toronto, and it happened while the sound crew were doing their checks. An employee at the park told local media that the band were due to arrive just after the stage collapsed, it is believed that the deceased man is in his 30's and that the other man is in hospital with head injuries.
Fire crews have declared the stage a no go area, as it is not known how much more of the stage may come down, also officials from the Ministry Of Labour have been called to investigate the accident.
Fire Captain Mike Strapko told local media that the piping which makes up the roof and supports the lights collapsed down on top of the workers setting up the stage.
Radiohead were quick to announce on their twitter that due to unforeseen circumstances that they would not be able to perform and Downsview park tonight, the 572 acre park has been used by bands such as the rolling stones and AC/DC, Radiohead were also marking the 15th anniversary since their classic album OK computer.
Our thoughts are with the friends and families of the deceased and the injured people that came about from this incident.
