Social media giant twitter this week has announced that there has been a security breach on their serves which could affect 250, 000 users.
In an official blog they mentioned that they noticed 'unusual access patterns' which lead to them identifying the attempts made at user information.
They said: “We discovered one live attack and were able to shut it down in process moments later. However, our investigation has thus far indicated that the attackers may have had access to limited user information – usernames, email addresses, session tokens and encrypted/salted versions of passwords – for approximately 250,000 users.”
This is very similar to recent attacks on the New York Times and is just one incident in a string of security breaches by very sophisticated hackers. Twitter users that have been affected have been sent emails urging them to change their passwords and it is strongly recommended that you change your password.
